Incoloy 800 has the following features:

Metallographic structure of Incoloy 800:
Incoloy 800 is a face-centered cubic lattice structure.
Extremely low carbon content and improved Ti:C ratio increase structural stability and maximum resistance to sensitization and intercrystalline corrosion.
Low temperature annealing at about 950℃ ensures fine grain structure.
Incoloy 800's corrosion resistance:
Incoloy 800 can withstand many corrosive media corrosion.
Its high nickel content makes it have good stress corrosion cracking resistance in water corrosion condition.
High chromium content makes it have better resistance to spot corrosion and crack corrosion.
The alloy has good properties
Resistance to nitric and organic acids, but in sulfuric and hydrochloric acid resistance is limited.
In addition to the possibility of spot corrosion in halides, it has good corrosion resistance in oxidizing and non-oxidizing salts.
In water, steam as well as steam, air, dioxide
The mixture of carbon also has good corrosion resistance.
Incoloy 800 process performance and requirements:
Hot working
1. The temperature range is 1200℃ ~ 950℃, and the cooling mode is water quenching or rapid air cooling.
2. In order to obtain the best performance and anti-creep property, solid solution treatment should be carried out after hot processing.
3. The material can be directly fed into the furnace which has been heated to 1200℃. After sufficient time of heat preservation, it can be quickly released and processed within the specified temperature range.
When the material temperature falls below the hot working temperature, it needs to be reheated.
Cold working
1. The work hardening rate is higher than that of austenitic stainless steel, so the processing equipment should be selected.
Cold processing materials should be solid solution heat treatment state, and in large amount of cold processing should be carried out intermediate annealing.
2. If the amount of cold processing is greater than 10%, it is necessary to conduct secondary solid solution treatment on the workpiece.
Welding process of incoloy800
Suitable for any traditional welding process and the same material or other metal welding, such as tungsten inert gas welding, plasma arc welding, manual sub-arc welding, metal inert gas welding, melting inert gas welding, pulse arc welding is the preferred solution.In the case of manual arc welding, (Ar+He+H2+CO2) is recommended as the protective gas.
