Inconel 625 Alloy 625 UNS N06625 Cold Drawn Alloy Steel Metal Stainless Steel Round Bar
UNS N06625 nickel based inconel 625 cold drawn stainless steel round bar
Inconel 625 UNS designation N06625 is a corrosion and oxidation resistant nickel alloy that is used both for its high strength and outstanding aqueous corrosion resistance. Its outstanding strength and toughness is due to the addition of niobium which acts with the molybdenum to stiffen the alloy’s matrix. Alloy 625 has excellent fatigue strength and stress-corrosion cracking resistance to chloride ions. This nickel alloy has excellent weldability and is frequently used to weld AL-6XN. This alloy resists a wide range of severely corrosive environments and is especially resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion. Some typical applications Inconel 625 is used in are chemical processing, aerospace and marine engineering, pollution-control equipment, and nuclear reactors

Futures:
Alloy 625 has excellent forming and welding characteristics. It may be forged or hot worked providing temperature is maintained in the range of about 1800-2150° F. Ideally, to control grain size, finish hot working operations should be performed at the lower end of the temperature range. Because of its good ductility, alloy 625 is also readily formed by cold working. However, the alloy does work-harden rapidly so intermediate annealing treatments may be needed for complex component forming operations. In order to restore the best balance of properties, all hot or cold worked parts should be annealed and rapidly cooled. This nickel alloy can be welded by both manual and automatic welding methods, including gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, electron beam and resistance welding. It exhibits good restraint welding characteristics
1. Features:This alloy has the following characteristics:
(1) various corrosive media in the oxidation and reduction environment have excellent corrosion resistance
(2) excellent resistance to spot corrosion and crevice corrosion, and no stress corrosion cracking caused by chloride
(3) excellent corrosion resistance to inorganic acids, such as nitric acid, phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, mixed acid of sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid, etc
(4) excellent corrosion resistance to mixed solution of various inorganic acids
(5) when the temperature reaches 40℃, it can show good corrosion resistance in various concentrations of hydrochloric acid solution
(6) good machinability and weldability, no cracking sensitivity after welding
(7) manufacturing certification for pressure vessels with wall temperature of -196~450℃
(8) certified by the corrosion engineers association of America (mr-01-75) to the highest standard grade VII for use in acidic gas environments
1 metallographic structure:
625 is a face-centered cubic lattice structure. When kept at about 650℃for a long enough time, the precipitated carbon particles and unstable quaternary phase will be converted into stable Ni3(Nb,Ti) rhombic phase. The molybdenum and niobium components in the ni-cr matrix will improve the mechanical properties, but decrease the plasticity.
2 corrosion resistance:
Alloy 625 shows excellent corrosion resistance in many media. It has excellent resistance to pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion, intercrystalline corrosion and erosion in chloride medium. It has good resistance to inorganic acid corrosion, such as nitric acid, phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, etc. At the same time, it also has alkali resistance and organic acid corrosion in oxidation and reduction environment.Effective resistance to chloride ion reducing stress corrosion cracking.Corrosion is almost nonexistent in seawater and industrial gases, and highly resistant to seawater and salt solutions, even at high temperatures. No sensitivity during welding. It is resistant to carbonization and oxidation in static or cyclic environment, and to chlorine-containing gas corrosion.
3. Application fields:
The softened and annealed low carbon alloy 625 is widely used in the chemical process industry, with good corrosion resistance and high strength, making it a thinner structural component.625 alloy can be used in contact with seawater and under high mechanical stress.
Typical application fields:
(1)components of organic chemical processes containing chloride, especially where acidic chloride catalysts are used
(2)Digesters and bleaching ponds used in the pulp and paper industry
(3) absorption tower, reheater, flue gas inlet baffle, fan (moisture), stirrer, deflector and flue gas flue gas desulfurization system
(4) for manufacturing equipment and components used in acidic gas environment
(5) acetic acid and acetic anhydride reaction generator
(6) sulfuric acid condenser
